[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Department Store's overseas fashion select shop 'Lotte TOPS' will hold 'Lotte TOPS Day' from the 19th to the 28th.
Lotte TOPS is an overseas fashion select shop that proposes products from famous overseas brands directly purchased by Lotte Department Store buyers under the slogan 'TOP BRAND, BEST PRICE.' Lotte TOPS Day is an event held twice a year in February and August, offering an additional 10-30% discount on prices that were only discounted in stores. Customers can purchase items at up to 40% off the regular price. About 80 brands in four categories?accessories, clothing, shoes, and living?are participating in this event.
Representative products include the 'Ferragamo Vara Bow Camera Bag,' sold at approximately 20% off the regular price for 559,200 KRW, and the 'Givenchy Antigona Small Black,' sold at about 15% off the regular price for 1,869,150 KRW.
Popular overseas clothing items are also offered at reasonable prices. The 'Thom Browne Diagonal Armband Hoodie Zip-up' and 'Paul Smith Zebra Patch Knit' are sold at about 10% off the regular price for 863,100 KRW and 143,100 KRW, respectively.
A variety of overseas sneakers, which have recently gained popularity among the younger generation, are also available. Representative products include the 'Golden Goose Superstar Sneakers' for 399,200 KRW and the 'Alexander McQueen Oversized Sneakers' for 527,200 KRW.
Additionally, home interior items, which have gained popularity due to extended home stays during COVID-19, will be sold at a discount. A 10% discount promotion is prepared for all products from about 30 popular overseas living brands in TOPS. Among them, the Dutch animal rug brand 'Doing Goods,' the German premium table mat brand 'Mateo,' and the famous Italian tableware brand 'VBC Casa' are offering discounts for the first time.
From the 22nd to the 28th, TOPS product events will also be showcased on Lotte ON’s Lotte Department Store Mall. As demand for purchasing luxury goods through online shopping has increased recently, the quantity for this online event has been increased more than fourfold compared to last year. Season-off and sale events for famous overseas brands will be held, with popular seasonal clothing from Burberry and Moose Knuckles discounted up to 20%, luxury accessories from Maison Margiela, Valentino, and Golden Goose up to 25%, and Johnstons of Elgin clothing and mufflers up to 36% off.
Sohn Eunkyung, Head of MD Development Division at Lotte Department Store, said, "As domestic and international travel has become difficult, many customers are purchasing luxury goods with their spare money. This will be a great opportunity to purchase various famous overseas brand products at reasonable prices."
Meanwhile, since opening its first store in 2015, Lotte TOPS currently operates 39 stores nationwide. Sales have shown strong growth, increasing from 5 billion KRW in 2016 to 80 billion KRW last year. This year, the company plans to actively pursue a spin-off strategy by launching separate brands for product categories with excellent sales performance within stores and open 11 new stores. The company stated, "The premium sneaker select shop 'SNEAKER BAR' will open a total of six stores within the year, starting with the Ansan store on the 26th, and the premium men's accessories select shop 'SMALT' will open five stores within the year, starting with the Jungdong store on March 11."
