Recruitment of Groups for Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju '2021 Youth Vitality Project'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 17th that it is recruiting youth organizations to participate in the ‘2021 Youth Vitality Project Contest’ until the 16th of next month to support youth to become the main agents of a vibrant and happy life.
The Youth Vitality Project is a policy designed to prevent youth from becoming NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training: unemployed youth with no intention to work) who complain of anxiety and depression due to the prolonged spread of COVID-19, and to help them live in harmony with the local community.
The contest is divided into three categories: ▲Physical Health ▲Mental Health ▲Space Support.
In the Physical Health category, ‘Our Neighborhood Youth - Walking King’ supports organizations that discover youth-friendly content such as ‘Youth Walking Networking’ and ‘Youth Walking Day Events’ linked to Gwangsan-gu’s walking project ‘Happiness-ro Walking Gwangsan.’
In the Mental Health category, ‘Our Neighborhood Youth - Ma-eumso’ allows organizations developing mental healing programs to relieve the worries of depressed youth due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation to participate.
The Space Support category, ‘Our Neighborhood Youth - Lounge,’ is a project that has been ongoing for three years. It supports organizations that promote social interaction among youth by discovering neighborhood cafes as youth spaces called ‘Lounges.’
Organizations or institutions/corporations composed of three or more youth aged 19 to 34 residing in Gwangju can participate in the project contest.
The total support fund is 30 million KRW and will be distributed differentially after evaluation of each organization.
