Gwangju City Announces Idea Contest to Improve Traffic Inconveniences for Citizens and Public Officials
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 17th that it will hold a contest for ideas to improve inconveniences in local traffic operations for citizens and public officials until the 8th of next month.
This contest was promoted from the perspective that "residents know better than experts about improvements in local traffic operations," aiming to receive improvement proposals and make traffic operations more convenient from the viewpoint of ordinary citizens.
The contest fields include ▲inconveniences and improvement plans related to traffic signal systems ▲locations and reasons requiring changes to traffic signal systems ▲habitual congestion sections or intersections needing traffic signal system improvements ▲locations for additional pedestrian crossings (including removal if unnecessary) and improvements in operation methods (such as adjusting waiting times) ▲sections or points where road markings and road signs differ (especially in school zones) ▲sections where drivers' visibility is not secured or safety facilities are insufficient (points needing maintenance) ▲and other inconveniences in local traffic, totaling seven categories.
Anyone, including citizens and public officials, can participate without restrictions. Participants can download the form from the city's website under Notices and Announcements and submit it via email or mail.
The city plans to select excellent proposals through a screening process and award prize money.
