Seoul Jung-gu, Recruiting Participants for Culture and Arts Youth Startups
Recruitment for Youth Joint Cultural Startup Project "Changup-ui Minjok" until 19th... Space Provided Using Vacant Stores, Startup Possible in Culture, Arts, and Food Service... Support up to 1.25 Million KRW per Month for Programs, Space, Equipment until December
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) is recruiting participants for the youth joint cultural startup "Chang-eop-ui Minjok" to revitalize local culture through youth entrepreneurship in the cultural and artistic fields.
Chang-eop-ui Minjok is a project aimed at helping young people succeed in startups by creating and providing startup spaces in vacant stores and idle spaces within the region, addressing the employment issues of young people majoring in cultural arts in poor conditions, while also encouraging them to settle locally.
Last year, 23 young people participated, forming 10 teams that discovered various startup models such as art product shops, Namsan Makgeolli development, and design studios. Spaces were created in downtown areas such as Euljiro, Pildong, and Hwanghak-dong, supporting each team with business registration and promotion, focusing on building a foundation for startups.
The startup teams participating in the project expanded activities collaborating with local businesses by operating cultural and artistic programs for residents, and explored the direction and roles that youth startup teams should take through meetings with the mayor.
This year, participants will be selected in March, and startup programs including basic education on taxation, labor, management, marketing, and expert consulting will be provided. Support of up to 1.25 million KRW per person per month will be given for startup spaces, equipment, and funds.
The recruitment target is nine unemployed youth under 39 years old with Korean nationality (forming 1 to 4 teams), and selected participants must move to Seoul within one month.
Priority will be given to employment protection and support recipients, persons with disabilities, heads of households, and long-term unemployed individuals.
The fields include startups related to culture and arts or those combining cooking and culture, with no detailed restrictions on industry or business type, allowing free application.
Those wishing to participate should submit the application form and startup plan by the 19th to the person in charge via email (cyso830@junggu.seoul.kr).
