Gwangju and Jeonnam Heavy Snow Advisory... Up to 15cm Overnight
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] A preliminary heavy snow warning has been issued for the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.
The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration announced a preliminary heavy snow warning on the 16th afternoon for Gwangju and the Jeonnam areas of Muan, Yeonggwang, Hampyeong, Naju, Jangseong, and Damyang.
The effective time is from that night until the early morning of the next day. Snow is expected to start before 9 PM on the West Coast of Jeonnam and expand to the entire region by early morning the next day.
The expected snowfall amount is 5 to 15 cm.
At 5 PM on the same day, the Gwangju Meteorological Administration issued a strong wind advisory for 17 locations in Jeonnam.
The affected areas are Goheung, Boseong, Yeosu, Gwangyang, Suncheon, Jangheung, Gangjin, Haenam, Wando, Yeongam, Muan, Hampyeong, Yeonggwang, Mokpo, Sinan (excluding Heuksan-myeon), Jindo, and Geomundo·Chodo.
Cold air continuously flowing in from the northwest is expected to cause severe cold on the 17th and 18th. During this period, the morning low temperatures will range from -8 to -3℃ and -7 to -1℃, and the daytime high temperatures will range from -2 to 0℃ and 1 to 3℃.
