Delivering Hope to Marginalized Neighbors with a Warm Touch
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 16th at 3 PM, Jo Gyu-il, Mayor of Jinju City, Gyeongnam, delivered a special Red Cross membership fee of 3 million won to the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross in the Entrepreneurs' Room.
Jinju City, Gyeongnam, participates annually in the special Red Cross membership fee fundraising campaign to convey love and hope to neighbors in need.
The 2021 fundraising target for the Red Cross membership fee was 222 million won, with the intensive fundraising period set from December 1 of last year to January 31 of this year. Active fundraising activities have been carried out, and membership fee collection continues throughout the year.
The collected Red Cross membership fees are used for various humanitarian activities such as disaster relief efforts, identifying vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots and providing medical support, and safety education.
