The Children’s Traffic Safety Relay Challenge is a campaign initiated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in response to recent fatal accidents occurring in children protection zones. It aims to establish a culture prioritizing children’s protection and to build a national consensus on preventing children’s traffic accidents amid growing social interest in children’s traffic safety.
Chairman Kim Jong-du held a placard with the phrase “Stop at 1, Look both ways at 2, Wait for 3 seconds, Prevent 4 dangers,” urging attention to the prevention of children’s traffic accidents.
He added, “Children have the right to be protected safely anytime and anywhere, and social practice is necessary accordingly,” and stated, “The Geochang County Council will take the lead in creating a safe traffic environment for children.”
