View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Hotel L7 Gangnam announced on the 16th that it has introduced and is operating a 'delivery robot' service, where a robot equipped with artificial intelligence delivers hotel items requested from guest rooms.
The delivery robot applies advanced information and communication technologies such as space mapping and autonomous driving, allowing it to move throughout all floors of L7 Gangnam (hotel floors 9 to 27) and operate 24 hours a day. When a staff member sets the room number and places the requested items inside the robot, it autonomously takes the elevator and arrives in front of the guest room. The robot notifies the guest of its arrival via the telephone provided in the room, enabling the guest to receive the items without face-to-face contact.

A representative of L7 Gangnam said, "After a trial operation of the delivery robot for about two months, we have experienced the demand for non-face-to-face service from customers. It is especially actively used for item requests during late night or early morning hours, and with fast and accurate service, customer satisfaction is very high. This has resulted in a win-win effect by improving hotel operational efficiency as well."
