[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (District Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) operates the Youth Counseling and Welfare Center (47, Arisu-ro 93-gil, 2nd floor, Gangdong-gu) for adolescents experiencing psychological and emotional difficulties.
The Gangdong-gu Youth Counseling and Welfare Center is a specialized counseling institution for youth that provides various educational and counseling services in collaboration with schools and local organizations within Gangdong-gu for adolescents in need.
The center offers systematic and integrated services from rescue to counseling and treatment for youth exposed to crisis situations.
Additionally, it runs a ‘Parent Education’ program to resolve conflicts between parents and children, striving to alleviate domestic discord that has become more frequent due to outing restrictions caused by COVID-19.
Last year, despite the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the center developed various counseling services and programs that could be conducted non-face-to-face, supporting over 23,000 counseling cases.
Any youth or parent in need can use the center.
Operating hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “The Gangdong-gu Youth Counseling and Welfare Center runs various programs for the prevention, rescue, and treatment of youth in crisis,” and added, “Youth and parents in need should not hesitate to visit the center.”
All counseling and programs are conducted by appointment.
