Naju-si Launches SNS Supporters... Promoting Tourism and Food
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 15th that it recently held a non-face-to-face ‘2021 SNS Supporters Launching Ceremony’ for COVID-19 prevention and will begin full-scale operation.
The supporters were selected through an open recruitment and screening process last month, totaling 20 people (5 men and 15 women), and are composed of a diverse age range from their 20s to 60s.
Until the end of this year, they will serve as online ambassadors showcasing Naju’s unique charm by promoting various festivals and events, representative tourist attractions and food, useful policies for daily life, heartwarming stories of citizens (groups), and phrases that bring vitality to everyday life.
The city currently operates four SNS channels: Blog (Naver), Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
The city hall’s YouTube channel has gained popularity by posting various video contents, starting with the self-produced video titled ‘Feel the Rhythm of KOREA : NAJU’ created by public officials to promote tourist sites.
This video is a parody of the Korea Tourism Organization’s ‘Feel the Rhythm of Korea,’ set to the background music of the song ‘Beom Naeryeonda’ by the band 이날치 (Inalchi Band), and is approaching 10,000 views just three weeks after posting.

Mayor Kang In-gyu said, “I thank everyone who applied to our city’s SNS supporters group during this critical time when non-face-to-face online promotion functions are very important due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. I hope it will be activated as a communication channel where not only local tourism, food, and useful administrative news but also warm stories of neighbors are shared.”
