ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office Conducts Non-Face-to-Face Annual Consultation... Final Report to Be Released in June
[Asia Economy Reporter Son Seon-hee] The ASEAN+3 (Korea, China, Japan) regional macroeconomic research organization (AMRO) will conduct the 2021 annual consultation with Korea from the 16th of this month until July 11th.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the 15th, the final report of this year's annual consultation with Korea is scheduled to be released around June. AMRO is an international organization established in Singapore in 2011 to monitor the economic trends of ASEAN+3 member countries and support the operation of the regional financial safety net (CMIM).
AMRO visits member countries annually to review economic trends such as macroeconomics, fiscal policy, and finance, and provides policy recommendations. Based on this, it prepares and publicly discloses annual consultation reports for each member country.
This year's annual consultation will be conducted entirely via video conference due to the impact of COVID-19. The AMRO mission team plans to hold video meetings with 15 institutions including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Bank of Korea, the Financial Services Commission, the Financial Supervisory Service, and the Korea Development Institute (KDI) during this consultation.
