SBA Calls for Participants in G-Valley Industry-Academia Research Group…Up to 15 Million KRW Support
Applications open until the 4th of next month... A total of 6 Industry-Academia Research Associations Selected
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Junhyung] The Seoul Business Agency (SBA) announced on the 15th that it is recruiting companies to participate in the 'G-Valley Industry-Academia Research Group.' The application period is until the 4th of next month.
The G-Valley Industry-Academia Research Group supports consortium joint research and exchange activities centered on small and medium-sized enterprises located in G-Valley in the western part of Seoul. This year's research group will be conducted as a voluntary project aimed at preparing for the acquisition of research and development (R&D) tasks. It establishes a cooperative model involving related experts and supports research activities for developing new projects for companies. It also promotes the development of high value-added technologies to lay the groundwork for attracting government funding and investment.
The operation period of the research group is eight months. During the operation period, regular meetings for discussions and research focused on the relevant field can be held, along with data collection related to research topics, consulting, and market research. External activities such as planning and preparation for government and local government R&D task acquisition and participation in seminars related to research topics are also possible.
The research group must form a consortium of at least five institutions. Any small or medium-sized enterprise located in G-Valley can apply as the lead organization. However, at least one university or research institute must be included.
The SBA will select six research groups through document and presentation evaluations based on the application and plan. Up to 15 million KRW will be supported per research group. If the lead organization was evaluated as excellent in last year's final evaluation or is a Hi Seoul company, an additional 5 points will be awarded in the document screening.
Meanwhile, last year, 10 research groups were selected and supported with voluntary projects proposed by the lead organizations. A total of 64 institutions participated, and through 85 exchanges with experts, 24 Requests for Proposals (RFPs) were derived as outcomes.
