Gwangju City Announces Public Recruitment for Citizen Peace and Unification Education Subsidy Project Operator
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 15th that it will publicly recruit subcontractors for the 2021 Citizen Peaceful Unification Education Support Project.
Eligibility requirements include being located in Gwangju as of the announcement date, having at least one year of experience in unification-related projects within the past five years, and being a nonprofit corporation or nonprofit private organization whose main business is related to the field of peaceful unification.
The projects include ▲unification field experience programs ▲training and capacity-building projects for unification education planners and instructors ▲planning projects for Unification Education Week ▲non-face-to-face and online cultural projects that align with Gwangju City's purpose of peace and unification education and allow citizens to actively experience and participate.
The application period is from the 25th of this month to the 2nd of next month. Organizations wishing to apply can search for ‘Citizen Peaceful Unification Education Project’ on the city’s website under notices and announcements, download the application documents, and submit them by visiting City Hall or by mail (only mail arriving by 6 p.m. on the application deadline day will be accepted).
The selection process will go through two stages: first, document and interview screening, and second, review by the Gwangju City Local Subsidy Deliberation Committee, which will finalize the supported organizations and funding amounts. The results will be announced on the city’s website and notified individually.

Lee Myung-soon, Director of Peace Foundation Creation at the city, said, “This year, we plan to prioritize projects where citizens can participate more proactively and subjectively from planning to implementation,” and added, “We hope for the interest and support of organizations with expertise and experience in this field.”
