[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Emart24 announced that during the Lunar New Year holiday period, sales of refrigerated and frozen convenience foods increased by 48% compared to the previous week, seasonings by 45%, and major ingredients (vegetables, tofu, bean sprouts, eggs) by 34%. Alcohol sales also rose, with liquor up 61%, traditional Korean liquor 59%, beer 32%, soju 26%, and wine 23%.
In particular, Peacock products gained popularity. Meal kits such as Uijeongbu-style Budae Jjigae and beef chuck flap steak, frozen convenience foods like grilled tteokgalbi and Soonhee's Bindaetteok, and refrigerated convenience foods including Johnsonville Budae Jjigae and Our Home Soft Tofu Stew recorded high sales.
