Dobong-gu, 2022 Citizen Deliberation Budget District-Level Plan-Type Cooperative Agenda Contest
Open to All from February 8 to March 5... Collaborative Agenda Call for Public-Private Partnership to Solve Local Issues Together
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is conducting a call for cooperative governance agenda proposals until March 5 to establish a foundation for local cooperation and solve community issues.
Anyone interested in solving local problems can participate.
The proposal fields cover the entire district administration including economy, welfare, transportation, culture, urban regeneration, and education. Any agenda that allows public and private sectors to collaborate throughout the planning, execution, and evaluation processes to solve local issues is acceptable.
Applicants should complete the application (proposal) form and send it via email (2017011717@dobong.go.kr) or visit the Dobong-gu Office Sustainable Development Division to submit it in person.
The application (proposal) form can be downloaded from the Dobong-gu Office website (Notice/Budget → Announcements).
Proposed agendas will undergo feasibility review and public-private deliberation through the Cooperative Governance Dobong Council and relevant departments, and will be selected as cooperative governance agendas at the Cooperative Governance Dobong 50+ Roundtable Meeting. The Cooperative Governance Dobong 50+ Roundtable Meeting is a unique deliberative public forum in Dobong-gu where various cooperative governance stakeholders gather to prioritize agendas and collect residents’ opinions for establishing the community innovation plan.
The selected agendas will be concretized into execution plans through deliberation by July, approved by the Cooperative Governance Dobong Council, and finalized as the ‘2022 Community Innovation Plan.’ The finalized plans are expected to be implemented from 2022 after final approval by the Seoul Metropolitan Government at the end of August.
Last year, ten agendas including ‘Realizing Sustainable Cooperative Governance in Dobong’ were selected as the ‘2021 Community Innovation Plan Cooperative Governance Agendas,’ and cooperative forums were formed for each project, with private and administrative sectors jointly promoting the projects.
Since 2016, Dobong-gu has led local cooperation by enacting the ‘Basic Ordinance for Activating Public-Private Cooperation in Dobong-gu,’ the first institutional foundation for sustainable cooperation among nationwide local governments, and by establishing the first community innovation plan among Seoul’s autonomous districts.
Mayor Dongjin Lee stated, “I hope that this call will discover agendas that residents need and can empathize with,” and added, “We will continue to make our best efforts to firmly establish cooperative governance as a core value of district administration.”
