Magnitude 5.2 Aftershock off the Coast of Fukushima, Japan
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Following a magnitude 7.3 earthquake on the Richter scale that struck off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, on the night of the 13th, another earthquake measuring 5.2 occurred on the 14th.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, at around 4:31 PM on the same day, a magnitude 5.2 earthquake occurred off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture at 37.5 degrees north latitude and 141.5 degrees east longitude. The hypocenter depth was approximately 50 km, and the agency reported that there is no tsunami (seismic sea wave) warning related to this earthquake.
This earthquake, presumed to be an aftershock of the strong quake (maximum seismic intensity 6 upper) that occurred the previous day, caused seismic intensity 4 shaking in some areas of Fukushima Prefecture.
Seismic intensity 4 indicates strong shaking where hanging objects such as light bulbs swing significantly, and unstable objects may fall over.

Earlier, at around 3:25 AM on the same day, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake also occurred off the coast of Iwate Prefecture, located north of Fukushima Prefecture, at 37.5 degrees north latitude and 142.5 degrees east longitude. The hypocenter depth was approximately 40 km.
