One Police Trainee Confirmed Positive at Jongam Police Substation Jurisdiction in Seoul
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] A police trainee in his 20s working at the Wolgok Police Substation of the Jongam Police Station in Seoul tested positive for COVID-19, leading to the temporary closure of the substation.
According to the police on the 14th, A (26), a trainee at the Central Police Academy who was scheduled to support epidemiological investigations at the Seongbuk Public Health Center, tested positive that morning.
A had worked at the substation until the 12th but was found to have had no contact with civilians. Accordingly, the police ordered 48 personnel working at the substation, excluding those on leave, to undergo diagnostic testing, disinfected the substation building, and temporarily closed it.
As a result of their rapid antigen tests, no additional confirmed cases have been reported so far. Jongam Police Station plans to review the PCR test results of the substation officers on the 15th and, if no abnormalities are found, resume substation operations from that night.
