Two Fires at Bars and Restaurants in Busan... 1 Person Injured
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Fires broke out consecutively overnight at pubs and restaurants in Busan.
At around 12:50 a.m. on the 14th, a fire, presumed to be caused by overheating of a deep fryer, broke out at a hofjip in Haeundae-gu, burning part of the kitchen and the business area, causing property damage estimated at 4.5 million won (police estimate), and was extinguished within 20 minutes.
The police are investigating the exact cause of the fire based on the victim's statement that the fire started while they briefly left after turning on the deep fryer.
Earlier, at around 8:45 p.m. on the 13th, a fire broke out in the kitchen of a restaurant in Buk-gu, causing second-degree burns to the hand of the owner in their 50s. The fire caused property damage estimated at 500,000 won (police estimate) and was extinguished within 15 minutes.
