Ministry of Foreign Affairs: "No Citizen Damage Reported So Far from Fukushima Sea Area Earthquake"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that there are no casualties among Korean nationals due to the magnitude 7.3 earthquake that occurred on the 13th in the northeastern sea area of Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.
On the 14th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "The Consulate General in Sendai has checked the damage status through the contact network of Korean organizations such as Mindan (the Korean Residents Union in Japan), and so far, there have been no casualties among our nationals."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, "We are urging caution regarding aftershocks through overseas travel safety advisories and postings on the websites of diplomatic missions in Japan. We will maintain close contact with the Korean community, monitor the damage situation, and provide necessary consular assistance."

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, currently about 1,300 nationals reside in Fukushima Prefecture, and about 3,200 reside in the neighboring Miyagi Prefecture.
