13 Syrians Infected with COVID-19 in Family Gathering in Yeoju
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Syrians who held a family gathering in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, were collectively infected with COVID-19.
According to Yeoju city quarantine authorities on the 13th, 13 people, including a Syrian national Mr. A's family, tested positive for COVID-19 after a family gathering.
Mr. A's family reportedly held a family gathering on the 6th at a residence in downtown Yeoju where Mr. A's mother lives, attended by a total of 20 people including Mr. A's three sons, their spouses, and children.
Their infections were confirmed during an epidemiological investigation of two Syrians who tested positive in Naju, Jeollanam-do on the 12th.
Among them, 13 showed additional positive results, while the test results for the remaining five have not yet been released.
