More Profitable Than New Year's Money... How About Bank 'Seol-Tech'?
Banks Launch Lunar New Year Products with Preferential Interest Rates and Prizes
[Asia Economy Reporter Seong Giho] Banks are rolling out various events including preferential interest rates and prizes to celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday. The benefits are better than expected, making it a lucrative 'Seol-tech' (Lunar New Year financial strategy) almost as rewarding as receiving New Year's money.
According to the banking sector on the 12th, Hana Bank is conducting the 'Receive New Year's Blessing Money' event through the Hana One Q app until the 15th.
First, upon logging into Hana One Q, up to 100,000 people daily and a total of 500,000 people will receive up to 50,000 Hana Money. Also, customers who gift Korean won or foreign currency through the 'My Heart Remittance' or 'Currency Exchange Gift' on the Hana One Q event page and enter the event will be entered into a draw where 1,000 winners will receive 1% of the gift amount back in Hana Money. During the Lunar New Year holiday, simply signing up for the e-Plus installment savings account, which allows deposits up to 1 million KRW per month via the Hana One Q app, will earn an additional 0.5% preferential interest rate.
Additionally, a special event for accumulating a large sum of money through New Year's money and congratulatory funds for school entrance and graduation will run from the 15th to next month’s 12th. Customers aged 18 or younger who subscribe to products such as the i-Kkum Hana installment savings, one-dollar foreign currency savings, or the comprehensive housing subscription savings will receive CU mobile gift certificates depending on the number of products subscribed.
Woori Bank is holding a Lunar New Year special event through its mobile banking app WON Banking until the 14th. Sending New Year's money using the 'Contact Transfer Service' on the immediate or scheduled transfer screen of WON Banking enters customers into a draw where 500 winners will receive a mobile coupon for a 10-pack of Dunkin' Donuts Munchkins.
In addition, customers who subscribe to at least one of Woori 200-day installment savings, Woori WON installment savings, or Woori WON deposit through WON Banking will be entered into daily draws to receive various mobile coupons, with a total of 840 winners.

The first 1,000 infant and youth customers who newly subscribe to the 'Shinhan MY Junior Installment Savings' or 'Comprehensive Housing Subscription Savings' products using the voucher will receive a Growing Mom temperament analysis report kit.
