[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] One day before the Lunar New Year holiday, a 3-year-old girl was found dead in an empty house in Gumi City, Gyeongbuk, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to the Gumi Police Station on the 10th, around 3 p.m. that day, the girl's maternal grandmother discovered the deceased girl in a villa in Sangmo Sagok-dong, Gumi City, and reported it.
The maternal grandmother reportedly went to the villa after hearing from the landlord that "the lease period of the villa had ended, so please vacate the house," and found her deceased granddaughter there.
At the time of discovery, the body was in an advanced state of decomposition. The police have determined that the child's parents moved to another location about six months ago.
