Gyeongbuk Goryeong-gun Presents Longevity Cane 'Cheongryeojang' to 100-Year-Old Resident of Ssangnim-myeon
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Goryeong County, Gyeongbuk Province (County Governor Kwak Yong-hwan) announced on the 10th that it delivered a longevity cane to Ha Bok-su, a local resident who turned 100 years old on the 9th in Ssangnim-myeon.
Ha Bok-su is a Sakhalin Korean currently residing at Daechang Nursing Home (Maechon-ri, Ssangnim-myeon) and has been living in the nursing home since returning to Yeongju in 1994.

The longevity cane given to the 100-year-old elder is called Cheongryeojang (靑藜杖). It is a cane made from the stalk of the millet plant and has traditionally symbolized wishes for health and long life.
