Lee Myung-bak discharged from Seoul National University Hospital... transferred to Anyang Prison
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] Former President Lee Myung-bak, who was receiving treatment at an external hospital while incarcerated at Seoul Eastern Detention Center, will be transferred to Anyang Prison after his discharge.
According to the legal community on the 10th, the former president was discharged from Seoul National University Hospital that afternoon.
After a COVID-19 outbreak occurred at the Eastern Detention Center at the end of last year, the former president tested negative in the first test and was admitted to Seoul National University Hospital on December 21 for treatment of underlying conditions.
After discharge, the former president will be incarcerated at Anyang Prison. Following the review by the Classification and Treatment Committee held earlier, it was decided that the former president would leave the Eastern Detention Center, where he had been held, and serve his sentence at Anyang Prison.
