"Take a 'Virtual Trip' at Simmons Terrace"... Travel-Themed Exhibition Opens
'Virtual ZETI' Exhibition Runs Until May 31
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Simmons announced on the 10th that it has opened the 'Virtual Jetty' exhibition at Simmons Terrace, a complex cultural space located in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do.
The Virtual Jetty exhibition, held at the Simmons Terrace lounge, expresses the longing for free travel held in the heart through 'virtual travel' in the new normal era where social distancing has become a daily routine. It is organized in the actual travel itinerary order from boarding the plane to arriving at the destination. This exhibition, which adds details such as visual elements reminiscent of the cabin and famous travel destinations, airport announcements, and the captain's voice, is expected to provide visitors with both nostalgia and excitement about travel. Simmons Bed collaborated with four young artists who are actively working on digital platforms for this exhibition.
A Simmons official said, "This exhibition was planned to create a precious healing time for those who are soothing their travel regrets with 'non-stop flights' and 'online travel,'" adding, "Visitors will be able to briefly escape from their frustrating daily lives, recall memories of travel destinations, and have hope that they will be able to travel again someday."
Visitors who finish their travel can upload photos taken during the journey to their personal Instagram with designated hashtags (#) through a kiosk installed at the exit and then print them out. The printed photos will be stamped with entry and exit stamps and presented together with a Virtual Jetty exclusive passport. Badges and stickers that can be attached to travel bags and suitcases are also prepared. All souvenirs, including the Virtual Jetty exhibition viewing, are free of charge.
