[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Sung Yun-mo, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, visited Inwang Traditional Market located in Hongje-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul on the 10th ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday to check the quarantine situation and holiday prices and to encourage market merchants.
Minister Sung purchased goods using Onnuri gift certificates together with Inwang Market officials and listened to the difficulties faced by traditional market merchants struggling due to COVID-19. Then, he visited the Seodaemun-gu Public Health Center to encourage the staff at the screening clinic who are working hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19 despite the cold weather.
Minister Sung said, "I appreciate the hard work of the medical staff and employees who are enduring the severe cold," and delivered holiday items such as fruits and rice cakes purchased at the traditional market with funds raised by public officials to the screening clinic.
