[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that it will open public parking lots free of charge to citizens and returning visitors for parking convenience and to revitalize the local economy during the Lunar New Year holiday.
The targets are 48 on-street public parking lots and 6 off-street public parking lots operated for a fee in Jinju City, 4 public parking lots in traditional markets, and the Jinju Fortress parking lot.
The free opening date is February 12, the day of the Lunar New Year holiday, and parking lot users can be exempted from all parking fees.

A city official said, "We decided to open free of charge on the day of the Lunar New Year holiday in consideration of citizens who should refrain from traveling to other regions during this holiday period and to revitalize the depressed local economy and commercial districts," adding, "Since the parking lots will operate without parking attendants on the opening day, we ask for cooperation in maintaining parking order and protecting facilities."
