LA Disneyland to Reopen After One Year
Limited Operation... Amusement Rides Not Operating
Providing Entertainment, Food & Beverage and Souvenir Sales
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Disneyland near Los Angeles (LA), California, USA, which had been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will reopen after more than a year. However, it will operate in a "limited capacity," offering entertainment without running rides, while selling food, beverages, and souvenirs.
Ken Potrock, President of Disneyland Resort, announced in a letter to employees on the 20th anniversary of LA Disneyland's opening on the 8th (local time) that "a temporary paid reopening is planned for mid-next month," according to reports from The Washington Post and Forbes.
This move follows the recent lifting of the stay-at-home order by the California state government. LA Disneyland has been closed since March 14 of last year in accordance with state quarantine guidelines.
The reopening Disneyland will operate on a limited basis, opening only on certain days of the week and accommodating a limited number of visitors. Potrock said, as reported by CNN, "It will look different from a typical amusement park."
