Fila Accelerates Strengthening of 'Performance Shoes' This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] FILA, the hidden supporter of skeleton national athlete Yoon Sung-bin, will sequentially launch performance shoes including cycling shoes and running shoes.
FILA will launch the cycling shoe 'Synapse' series, which underwent a testing period in the second half of last year, in an upgraded version this April. Following the Synapse 5, FILA plans to release Synapse 7 and Synapse 9 sequentially, offering a custom service to produce tailored cycling shoes according to the wearer's preferences and needs.
The running shoe 'Neuron Series' is also scheduled to be unveiled in April. FILA plans to release entry-level short-distance shoes to mid-distance shoes in the first half of the year, followed by long-distance shoes sequentially in the second half.
Meanwhile, FILA officially sponsors the Korea Bobsleigh Skeleton Federation and has begun full-scale development of competition shoes. FILA provided bobsleigh and skeleton shoes to national team athletes, including Yoon Sung-bin, who participated in the 6th and 7th rounds of the IBSF World Cup held last January.
Yoon Sung-bin, who won bronze and silver medals at this competition, expressed satisfaction with the shoes immediately after the race, saying, "I wore the competition shoes developed by FILA in my first race, and my worries were unfounded as I was very satisfied."
FILA developed top-level technology through over five years of industry-academic cooperation via an MOU with Korea National Sport University, led by its R&D center 'FILA Global Lab,' and in collaboration with the 'FILA Global Development Center' located in China.
