Wireless Network Setup in Elementary, Middle, and High School Classrooms to Be Completed by June
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will continue remote classes based on real-time interactive communication classes in line with the prolonged trend of COVID-19.
On the 9th, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it will fully open video services capable of real-time interactive communication classes such as e-Hakseupter, EBS Online Class, and Seoul newSSEM to expand remote classes.
They plan to complete the construction of wireless networks in general classrooms from kindergarten to elementary, middle, and high schools by June. They will support free rental of smart devices to students and provide budgets for maintenance and management software (MDM) for rental devices.
Remote class capacity-building training will be expanded and supported at education support offices, education training institutes, and education research information centers. A teacher Q&A community will be operated where teachers can ask questions and receive answers about preparing or conducting remote classes.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it will develop and distribute 'Remote Operation Help Materials' necessary for remote classes to the field. This was planned to help operate stable and systematic remote education based on the experience of overcoming difficulties encountered when remote classes suddenly started last year.
The materials cover school operation and remote class environment, teaching methods that leverage the advantages of remote classes, teachers' work and training methods in the remote era, remote education, and educational safety nets. The help materials include various reference cases along with additional materials such as videos and booklets containing QR codes. PDF files will be uploaded on the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education website.
