The county plans to conduct daily telephone surveillance and on-site inspections of quarantine practices at 33 poultry farms during the holiday period, and will completely block the entry of livestock vehicles to poultry farms and migratory bird habitats.
Recently, highly pathogenic AI has occurred and spread nationwide at 208 locations, including 83 poultry farms and 125 migratory bird habitats. Seven control posts have been installed at duck farms and chicken coops to prohibit the entry of livestock and delivery vehicles. Additionally, one wide-area disinfectant vehicle and two drones are deployed to disinfect farms and surrounding areas once daily.
During the holiday period, a livestock disease situation room will be established and operated. For the 33 poultry farms, the application of slaked lime at entrances, disinfection inside barns, normal operation of CCTV, and confirmation of disease infection and disinfection of livestock will be checked daily via telephone or on-site inspections.
In preparation for the Lunar New Year, 2,855 kg of disinfectants, 2,340 bags of slaked lime, 283 packs of wild bird repellents, and 1,690 packs of immune boosters have been urgently supplied to farms. Farm owners have been administratively guided to disinfect the farm entrances and surrounding areas daily.
In particular, entry of livestock vehicles is prohibited at migratory bird habitats such as Yeongamho, Gocheonamho, and Geumhoho. Guidance will be provided for using detour roads and disinfection through county base disinfection facilities.
Two wide-area disinfectant vehicles and one county quarantine vehicle will be mobilized to disinfect roads, farmland, and migratory bird habitats once daily. Slaked lime will be applied at 40 main access points, establishing a slaked lime barrier belt to fully prevent highly pathogenic AI.
