[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Yongsan-gu (District Mayor Seongjang Hyun) will implement the 2021 Lunar New Year comprehensive measures from February 8 to 15.
This is to minimize any inconvenience to residents during the holiday period.
The key focus areas are ▲resident safety measures ▲traffic convenience and support for marginalized neighbors ▲resolution of daily inconveniences ▲price stabilization ▲establishment of public service discipline, and especially, to prevent the worsening of the COVID-19 situation, the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters will continue to operate throughout the holiday period.
Working hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with 12 personnel assigned daily.
The headquarters is divided into the General Response Team, Contact Management Team, Screening Clinic Team, Epidemiological Investigation Team, and Disinfection Team, responsible for reporting confirmed cases, assigning isolation beds, transporting patients, and transporting overseas arrivals.
The screening clinics installed at the entrance of the district health center, the front plaza of Yongsan Station, and Hannam-dong public parking lot will also remain available during the holiday period.
Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A district official stated, “In addition to operating the headquarters and screening clinics, we are thoroughly managing those in self-quarantine,” adding, “230 dedicated public officials will continuously check on self-quarantined individuals and monitor any violations.”
The district is also focusing on cold wave and snow removal measures. The Cold Wave Situation Management Task Force (TF), Cold Wave Countermeasures Headquarters, and Snow Removal Situation Room will operate 24 hours a day. Especially, when the probability of snowfall exceeds 80%, de-icing agents will be pre-applied to vulnerable points such as major arterial roads. Emergency duty for public officials will continue in stages.
From February 8 to 15, safety inspections are also planned for residential and disaster-vulnerable facilities and redevelopment construction sites. Inspection targets include 20 locations such as Jungsan Demonstration Apartment and old buildings at 5-17 Galwol-dong. Minor issues found during inspections will be immediately addressed on-site, and serious issues will be guided to building owners and others to resolve risk factors before the holiday.
