With single-digit cases for four consecutive days, there is growing hope that the chain of cluster infections that had been spreading throughout the region has been broken.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 7th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area reached 3,023, an increase of 17 from the previous day (including 41 imported cases).
The one new confirmed case in Pohang was identified as positive during the administrative order for 'one focused test per household.'
From January 26 to the 4th of this month, an administrative order was issued requiring at least one diagnostic test per household in all homes within Nam-gu and Buk-gu districts of Pohang, where n-th generation infections had been ongoing. Through this testing, 196,410 people participated, and 57 asymptomatic confirmed cases (including one on the 6th) were discovered.
Meanwhile, in Gyeongbuk Province, 41 people (excluding imported cases) have been confirmed positive in various parts of the region over the past week, resulting in a weekly daily average of 5.8 confirmed cases.
