Police Investigate Public Daycare Center Over Alleged Assault on Two-Year-Old Girl
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] A teacher at a public daycare center in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, is under investigation by the police following allegations of assaulting a two-year-old girl.
The Eunpyeong Police Station in Seoul announced on the 5th that they have launched an investigation after the parents of A (2) filed a complaint against the daycare center director and the teacher in charge on charges including child abuse.
The parents of A are suspected to have believed that their daughter was assaulted by a daycare teacher around December of last year. The police have assigned a dedicated child abuse prevention officer and are verifying the complaint in cooperation with the local government’s child abuse department.
