53 Vulnerable Areas Designated Last Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 5th that it will conduct a field survey of areas at risk of landslides.
After designating 53 locations as vulnerable areas through a basic survey last year, Gyeongnam Province plans to conduct additional investigations on 272 sites this year.
Field surveys will be conducted targeting forests adjacent to residential areas and areas at risk of landslides, and the risk level will be classified by analyzing the landslide risk through virtual simulations.
Based on the survey results, areas with high risk will be designated as landslide vulnerable zones, and structural and non-structural measures will be established to prepare a landslide prevention and response system.
