At Lake Cultural Experiment Space, 'Visible Radio' for Residents Runs... 8 Sessions Until February 26... From Movie Introductions to Pet Dog Tips
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will hold a visible radio program as the first event of the new year at the ‘Cultural Space Hosu’ located at Seokchon Lake for one month until the 26th.
‘Cultural Space Hosu’ is a complex cultural facility created at the west lake of Seokchon Lake, a representative attraction of Songpa. At the end of 2019, the district remodeled a restaurant that was operated under private consignment and transformed it into a cultural space for residents. The facility spans three floors and includes Lounge ‘Ho’, Lounge ‘Su’, a media room, Zero Lounge, Zero Stage, a cooking studio, a living culture support center, and four halls of the Future Education Center, enabling a variety of cultural programs.
As the first program of 2021, the district prepared the visible radio SONGpa Enjoy ‘Bora’ for residents exhausted by prolonged social distancing.
This allows residents and visitors to enjoy culture briefly during lunchtime while minimizing space opening.
The visible radio runs every Wednesday and Friday (except February 12) from January 29 to February 26. It is broadcast live at noon on the YouTube channel ‘Cultural Space Hosu’. It can also be heard through speakers along the Seokchon Lake walking trail, and the live broadcast video can be watched anytime the next day on the YouTube channel.
The broadcast topics vary each session and include ▲Belated New Year’s wish making ▲Healing movie introductions ▲Pet dog knowledge ▲Starting one-person media ▲Introduction to Cultural Space Hosu ▲Performances by Songpa young artists ▲Introduction to Songpa-gu cultural spaces ▲Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival, among others.
Starting with the visible radio, the district plans to diversify on-site and online programs depending on the COVID-19 situation. In April, the facility previously operated as a caf? at the west lake of Seokchon Lake will be transformed into ‘Atelier’, a small performance hall with audience participation, expanding residents’ cultural engagement.

Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “I hope the visible radio will provide a brief moment of rest for residents who have not been able to enjoy cultural life due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to expand various cultural facilities centered around Seokchon Lake, a landmark of Seoul, to create Songpa as a cultural central city where residents’ daily lives become culture.”
