View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] Kim Geun-sik, a preliminary candidate of the People Power Party running for the Seoul mayoral by-election, pointed out on the 4th that "it is not desirable to disclose and criticize one by one" regarding the media reports about Cho Min, the daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, applying for a hospital internship.
On the same day, Kim wrote on his Facebook, "I am someone who criticizes Cho Kuk more than anyone else," but added, "Let's leave Cho Min's internship application out of interest now. It won't be easy because her grades are not good."
He continued, "Cho Min is also an accomplice in the unfair admission, but she has not been formally indicted yet," and said, "Although it is an unfair reality, since this is also reality, we cannot forcibly block or stop Cho Min's internship application at this stage."
He emphasized, "Forcibly blocking her employment activities at this stage is practically close to lynching."
Kim also criticized Lim Hyun-taek, president of the Korean Pediatric Society, for reporting on Cho Min's internship application, saying, "Chasing after every internship application to protest and block it is not a good sight."
He added, "It is true that the public's emotions and anger make Cho Min's internship application frustrating and annoying, but we must calmly wait for the court's final judgment and the decision of Pusan National University."
Regarding former Minister Cho Kuk, he said, "From a father's heart, it must be uncomfortable that his child's internship application is broadcasted as if live," and added, "If Cho Kuk has any conscience, the best thing is to discourage his child's internship application, have Cho Min repent on her own, and for himself to give up on the internship application."
Earlier, it was revealed that Cho Min recently applied for an internship program at the National Medical Center under the Ministry of Health and Welfare but was rejected. On the previous day (the 3rd), suspicions were raised that she applied to Hanil Hospital, under the Korea Electric Power Corporation Medical Foundation.
Regarding this, President Lim wrote on his Facebook that "Cho Min's additional application for an internship at Hanil Hospital is very unfair, and firm measures are requested."
He pointed out, "If Cho Min is accepted as an intern, an absurd illegal situation will be left unattended, and after the Supreme Court's final ruling, it will inevitably result in an unqualified person performing medical acts, which is a bizarre situation," and added, "The director of Hanil Hospital and those involved in selecting interns will end up condoning, aiding, and participating in this illegal act."
In response, former Minister Cho Kuk criticized this as a "malicious and indiscriminate attack."
On the same day, Cho Kuk posted on Facebook, stating, "Recently, there have been malicious false reports regarding my daughter's hospital internship application, leading to personal information leaks and indiscriminate attacks both online and offline."
He added, "It feels like stalking-like media coverage and social ostracism have resumed."
Cho Kuk explained, "I understand that my daughter's whereabouts will be decided after the court's final judicial judgment and the school's administrative review according to relevant laws," and said, "My daughter will provide sincere and serious explanations during this process, which could bring significant disadvantages to her personal life."
He emphasized, "I hope that during this process, my daughter can be guaranteed at least the minimum human rights as a citizen."
