Doosan Robotics Partners with KOTMI for Technology Development in Textile Industry Robot Applications

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Doosan Robotics announced on the 4th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Textile Machinery Convergence Institute (KOTMI) for the 'Development of Automation Technology for Textile Manufacturing Processes Using Collaborative Robots.'
Under this agreement, the two companies will develop technology for automating manufacturing sites in the textile industry and jointly utilize space, equipment, and personnel. In particular, they plan to research and develop technology combining KOTMI's standard process model for robot utilization with Doosan Robotics' collaborative robots.
Choi Dong-hwi, CEO of Doosan Robotics, said, "Collaborative robots operate safely and smoothly even in high-risk work environments, enabling accurate and fast work," adding, "Automation of manufacturing sites in the textile industry is expected to greatly contribute to production efficiency, environmental improvement, and quality stability."
Sung Ha-kyung, Director of KOTMI, expressed, "The two companies, which possess expertise in the textile and robotics fields, are expected to play a leading role in spreading manufacturing robots within the textile industry through the development of specialized technology."

Doosan Robotics began with the launch of its flagship M series in 2017, followed by the A series with enhanced acceleration and the H series capable of carrying the highest weight in 2020.
