Naver to Remove Real-Time Search Keywords... Service Ends on the 25th
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Naver will terminate its real-time search term (rising search term) service on the 25th.
On the 4th, Naver stated, "We are ending the service in line with changing trends," adding, "The 'Search Chart' section on the mobile Naver home will also be discontinued."
The real-time search term service analyzed users' search terms and displayed them in order based on frequency and growth rate. The real-time search term rankings served as an indicator of the public's interests and trends.
However, controversies over manipulation of real-time search terms, especially centered around the political sphere during election seasons, have been ongoing.
Previously, Kakao also abolished the 'Real-time Issue Search Terms' on the Daum portal in February last year.
