Change in Local Visit Plans Due to COVID-19... 10 First-Year Middle School Students in the Area... 5 Times a Week for 4 Weeks Until the 13th of This Month... Real-Time Remote Classes at Each Home
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) will conduct an online global training program for middle school students.
Guro-gu stated on the 4th, "This training was prepared to nurture outstanding talents suitable for the global era and to provide students with various experiences and opportunities to develop their talents," adding, "Although it was originally planned as an on-site training, the entire process was switched to online to prevent COVID-19."
The training targets 10 first-year middle school students from local schools such as Sindorim, Guil, and Yeongseo. Participating students were selected considering their interest in global activities and their level of everyday English among students in the free semester system.
The curriculum will be conducted five times a week for four weeks until the 13th of this month. The students will participate in classes using their mobile phones or PCs at home. The program consists of ESL classes conducted in real-time remote education, Q&A sessions related to the classes, and Cultural Classes for mutual exchange with local students.
Guro-gu is conducting this program together with Yuhan Technical High School, which has extensive experience in global training projects. The program planning was handled by the Windsor Catholic District School Board in Canada.
