Andong City, 1.5 Million Won 'Disaster Relief Fund' for Gathering Ban and 1 Million Won for Business Restrictions

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Andong City, Gyeongbuk Province, announced on the 3rd that it will urgently provide disaster relief funds totaling 6 billion KRW to businesses that complied with the gathering ban and business restrictions under the Level 2 social distancing measures since December 14, 2020.
This disaster relief fund is for businesses operating in Andong City as of December 14, 2020. Businesses in the gathering ban category will receive 1.5 million KRW, and those in the business restriction category will receive 1 million KRW each. However, businesses that violated administrative orders and those that were closed or suspended before December 13, 2020, are excluded from support.
The application period is from the 4th to the 26th of this month. From the 4th to the 9th is designated as the intensive application period, with plans to provide payments as much as possible before the Lunar New Year holiday. To facilitate smooth applications, submissions will be accepted based on an odd-even system according to the last digit of the business registration number.

Mayor Kwon Young-se of Andong City stated, "We have decided to provide emergency disaster relief funds to protect business owners who have cooperated with social distancing measures and endured sacrifices due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "We hope this support will serve as a stepping stone for business owners facing difficulties such as decreased sales and rental burdens to recover."
