[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] Do Kyung-wan, an announcer who left KBS, stepped down after the broadcast of 'I Like the Song.'
On the February 2nd broadcast of the KBS2 entertainment program 'I Like the Song,' announcer Do Kyung-wan announced his departure and shared his final thoughts. On that day, Jang Yoon-jung, co-MC and Do Kyung-wan's wife, opened by saying, "Today marks the 196th day we have been with our viewers. We have something to share. Today is Do Kyung-wan's last broadcast."
Do Kyung-wan reflected, "It’s already been six years, and so many things have happened. I laughed and cried a lot; time really flew by." He added, "Though I’m called an MC, I don’t think I did anything major here. I want to sincerely thank my wife Jang Yoon-jung, who always filled in for my shortcomings and gaps, our Challenge Team who provided wonderful stages, our world-class band, and the judges. Thanks to the viewers, I was able to be here until now," showing a choked-up expression.
He continued, "It’s been nine years since I’ve lived with Jang Yoon-jung. I think I caused her some trouble by not listening for the past eight years, so from this year on, I will listen to her well." When Jang Yoon-jung asked, "Did you cause some trouble?" Do Kyung-wan replied, "As long as she gives me pocket money well, I’ll keep it up," bringing laughter even as he was showing tears.
'I Like the Song,' which Do Kyung-wan had co-hosted with Jang Yoon-jung since 2016, will now be hosted by announcer Kim Seon-geun.

Meanwhile, Do Kyung-wan joined KBS in 2008 as part of the 35th class of public announcers and actively appeared on shows such as 'Live Info Show,' 'The Return of Superman,' and 'New Product Launch Pantry Restaurant.' He married Jang Yoon-jung in 2013 and has one son and one daughter. Recently, he expressed his intention to resign from KBS and was officially dismissed as of February 1.
