Gyeongsan City, 'Urban Agriculture Public Farm' Leasing... 290 Plots Usually 50% Discounted
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Gyeongsan City, Gyeongbuk Province (Mayor Choi Young-jo) announced on the 3rd that it will lease urban agriculture public farms
The public farm operated by Gyeongsan City is located at 241-1 Sincheon-dong (Jinmot dredging site). The operation scale is a 5,600㎡ experiential garden equipped with various convenience facilities such as parking lots, rest areas, restrooms, and water facilities.
The number of plots for lease is 290 in total, including 220 plots of 12.2㎡ and 70 plots of 21.6㎡. It plans to operate specialized gardens tailored to different groups such as the silver generation, daycare centers, and nursing institutions. The lease fee is 25,000 KRW for 12.2㎡ and 45,000 KRW for 21.6㎡, which is a temporary 50% discount considering the COVID-19 situation.
Anyone who is a non-farmer residing in Gyeongsan City can apply. One plot can be leased per household. For more details, please refer to the Gyeongsan Agricultural Technology Center website.

An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, "The public farm being leased this time was created to provide urban residents with health, proper food, social shared agriculture, and horticultural therapy experiences through garden farming," adding, "It plans to operate using eco-friendly organic farming methods to produce safe food and preserve the agricultural environment."
