Gwangju City Recruiting Participants for 'Rainwater Savings Bank Installation Support Project'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the same day that it will recruit applicants for the ‘Rainwater Storage Tank Installation Support Project’ from the 1st of this month to the 2nd of next month to reuse discarded rainwater and efficiently utilize water resources.
The ‘Rainwater Storage Tank’ is a facility that collects rainwater falling on roofs into a storage tank for use. The collected rainwater can be used for garden irrigation, landscaping water, cleaning water, and more.
The support targets buildings with a roof area of less than 1000㎡, apartment complexes with a building area of less than 10,000㎡, and schools with a building area of less than 5,000㎡ (excluding new constructions). It provides subsidies covering 90% of installation costs, up to a maximum of 10 million KRW.
Gwangju City aims to reduce tap water usage by utilizing valuable water resources such as rainwater, and last year supported 26 locations including single-family homes and daycare centers with 100 million KRW.
Citizens wishing to install rainwater storage tanks can refer to the public notice on the city’s website, fill out the application documents, and apply by visiting the city office or sending them by registered mail. After on-site inspections and evaluations, the support recipients will be selected in March to April.
