Seoul Gangseo-gu Selected as an Excellent Institution in Anti-Corruption Policy Evaluation
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Selected as an Excellent Institution with a Grade 2 in the 2020 Evaluation... Two-Level Improvement Compared to 2019... High Praise for Anti-Corruption System Operation and Policy Promotion Efforts
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) announced that it was selected as an "Excellent Institution" by receiving a grade 2 in the "2020 Public Institution Anti-Corruption Policy Evaluation" conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
This result is significant as it shows a two-level improvement compared to the 2019 evaluation result (grade 4), reflecting the district's active efforts to implement anti-corruption and integrity policies.
The anti-corruption policy evaluation has been conducted annually by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission since 2002, measuring integrity and evaluating the efforts and effectiveness of anti-corruption policies in public institutions.
This year, a total of 263 institutions, including central government ministries, local governments, and public-related organizations, were comprehensively evaluated on their anti-corruption performance from November 2019 to October 2020. The results were classified into five grades (1 to 5) by institution.
As a result of the evaluation, the district received excellent scores in four areas: ▲establishment of anti-corruption promotion plans ▲operation of anti-corruption systems ▲anti-corruption policy performance ▲efforts to spread anti-corruption policies, achieving a total score of 85.43 points and earning grade 2, thus being selected as an excellent institution.
In particular, the district received full marks (100 points) in two areas, "operation of anti-corruption systems" and "efforts to spread anti-corruption policies," due to high evaluations of active implementation efforts such as 100% completion of anti-corruption and integrity education for senior public officials, training of integrity education instructors, and anti-corruption and integrity governance activities.
The district plans to continue making multifaceted efforts this year to ensure that anti-corruption policies lead to improved integrity, beyond just this evaluation result.
