Songpa-gu Continues Administrative Services Including Resident Safety and Support for Marginalized Neighbors During Lunar New Year Holiday
Ensuring Comfortable Daily Life for Residents through 14 Projects in 5 Key Areas: Public Safety, Resolving Daily Inconveniences, Stabilizing Holiday Prices, Supporting Marginalized Neighbors, and Establishing Public Service Discipline
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will continue its trusted administration through the implementation of a comprehensive plan for the Lunar New Year holiday period, focusing on citizen safety prevention and resolving daily inconveniences.
The district established the comprehensive Lunar New Year plan in early January.
From February 10 to February 15, it plans to carry out 14 essential administrative tasks across five key areas directly related to citizens' lives: ▲citizen safety ▲resolution of daily inconveniences ▲stabilization of holiday prices ▲support for marginalized neighbors ▲establishment of public service discipline. To this end, over 160 employees from 18 departments will be on emergency duty during the holiday period.
The main focus areas of this Lunar New Year plan are citizen safety and resolving daily inconveniences. The health center’s screening clinics will operate normally during the holiday, and an emergency quarantine system including patient transport and epidemiological investigations will be established to respond promptly in case of confirmed cases.
Additionally, 371 emergency medical facilities and holiday pharmacy keepers within the region have been designated to prepare for emergency situations.
Facility safety is also being ensured. To protect citizen safety, patrols will be intensified at 44 key management facilities such as road infrastructure and large construction sites, and a 24-hour emergency contact system will be activated to prepare for winter disasters such as cold waves, heavy snow, and fires.
Preemptive measures have also been prepared to resolve citizens’ daily inconveniences related to cleaning, traffic, and parking. In particular, to avoid inconvenience in waste disposal for the 670,000 Songpa-gu residents, waste collection schedules of cleaning contractors will be announced in advance, and special cleaning and focused inspections of vulnerable areas will be conducted through local community centers before and after the Lunar New Year holiday.
Moreover, to prepare for unexpected heavy snowfall, various traffic facilities will be inspected in advance, and public parking lots will be opened free of charge to enhance residents’ convenience. Meanwhile, measures to stabilize holiday prices, support marginalized neighbors, and special education to establish public service discipline will be conducted simultaneously to minimize citizen inconvenience.
