According to the industry on the 31st, as face-to-face classes have become difficult due to the prolonged resurgence of COVID-19, education companies are introducing various non-face-to-face education program events that help strategically utilize the winter vacation and enhance learners' sense of achievement.
English education specialist Yoon’s English is conducting the ‘English Skills FLEX Event’ for members of its study room brand, Uri Jip Ap English Classroom. The event is designed to motivate students' learning and achieve a sense of accomplishment during the winter vacation period.
The participation method varies by grade: lower elementary students submit videos within 2-3 minutes, while upper elementary students record videos of their results after more than 1 minute of STEAM classes and upload them to their personal YouTube or Instagram, then leave a comment on the event page to enter. Applications are accepted until the 28th of next month, and 30 outstanding members among participants will receive cultural gift certificates.
Edutech company Dshare is running a 1:1 managed study room program called ‘Challenge 200’. ‘Challenge 200’ aims to achieve 200 hours of pure study time to improve grades during the winter vacation. The program is conducted in a self-study format within branches, and features personalized 1:1 management of attendance and study attitude through A.Dot English Academy’s unique CRM (student management system).
Learning is based on mentoring by a dedicated mentor who sets daily, weekly, and monthly study goals and detailed study directions. After studying, customized feedback is provided, including checks on plan execution and achievement, enabling securing study volume and forming self-directed study habits. Additionally, it offers study strategies for other subjects such as math and Korean, helping students spend their winter vacation more effectively.
Visang Education’s middle school online lecture site Subakssi.com is holding the ‘Subakssi Alpha S 100-Hour Experience Attack Certification Mission’ event to celebrate the launch of the new ‘Subakssi Alpha S’ service. Participants can apply for a free 100-hour trial of Subakssi Alpha S on the Subakssi.com homepage, experience lectures on PC or mobile, and upon certification, 100 people will receive Kkobuk Chip snacks. The target audience is 6th grade elementary to 3rd grade middle school members experiencing the free trial for the first time. After signing up, starting lectures through the experience zone automatically completes certification, and participation is possible until February 28.
Chunjae Education is conducting the ‘Mindspark’ winter vacation camp program to relieve stress for middle school students through its subsidiary Chunjae Textbook’s smart learning ‘Milk Tea Middle School’.
Starting from the 4th, Mindspark sequentially opens a total of five stages every Monday, progressing through the power of relaxation, right brain power, metacognition, grit, and creativity enhancement. A Chunjae Education official explained, "Each program can be enjoyed without burden in about 10 minutes, helping to relieve tension and improve middle school students’ concentration." Students who participate daily in Mindspark collect golden keys to open treasure chests, and a lottery awards various prizes such as cultural gift certificates, gifticons, and Milk Tea points.

An industry official said, "As the prolonged resurgence of COVID-19 limits visits to academies and study rooms, students’ concentration inevitably declines as they continue self-directed learning at home through non-face-to-face education programs during the winter vacation." He added, "To overcome this, reward strategies and events that motivate and give a sense of achievement to self-studying students will be actively conducted across the industry until the new semester begins."
