One More Confirmed Case in Jeju After Five Days... Total 519 Cases
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Park Chang-won] One new COVID-19 case was confirmed in Jeju on the 28th.
According to Jeju Special Self-Governing Province on the 29th, one person was diagnosed positive as of the previous day and was classified as Jeju case number 519.
The number of people tested for COVID-19 on the previous day was 696.
After no new cases were reported for four consecutive days since the 24th, one additional case was confirmed in Jeju, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 519.
As of 11 a.m. on the day, no additional cases had been reported.
Jeju case number 519 was confirmed to be a family member of case number 495, who was diagnosed positive on the 15th after contact with Jeju case number 493.
Accordingly, Jeju case number 519 had been in self-quarantine since the 15th.
Jeju case number 519 initially tested negative before starting self-quarantine but was finally confirmed positive in the test before quarantine release. No additional movement paths have been identified.
Health authorities expect no additional cases as all other contacts of Jeju case number 493 tested negative and their self-quarantine will be lifted on the day.
