Gyeongbuk Province Conducts 'Earthquake Action Guidelines' Resident Tour Education... Flood of Applications from Daycare Centers
February Registration Deadline ... On-site Training Starting in March
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 29th that since the start of accepting applications for this year's 'Earthquake Preparedness Action Guidelines Resident Touring Education,' inquiries and applications for education have been flooding in, especially from daycare centers across the province.
Until last year, the entire education process was handled by a commissioned institution, but this year, considering the educational environment by region and age group, applications are also being accepted through the Gyeongbuk-do Daycare Center Association, which Gyeongsangbuk-do evaluates as a successful way to attract interest.
Since last year, Gyeongsangbuk-do has selected daycare centers (children) as the main target for resident touring education, as they are particularly vulnerable to disasters but lack regular disaster education due to the burden of education costs, completing a total of 167 sessions and receiving favorable reviews.
Starting this year, the plan is to enhance the effectiveness of education by providing repeated education (about 4 times) to the selected daycare children and supplying earthquake disaster prevention hats to the daycare centers.
Gyeongsangbuk-do plans to close applications by February, select the education targets, and start the resident touring education by March at the latest.
