Gwangju-Jeonnam Heavy Snow Warning Issued... Heavy Snow Until Morning of 29th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] A heavy snow advisory has been issued for Gwangju Metropolitan City and some areas of Jeonnam.
The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration issued a heavy snow advisory at 6 p.m. on the 28th for Gwangju and Jeonnam's Jangseong, Gurye, Gokseong, and Damyang.
A heavy snow advisory is issued when snowfall is expected to accumulate 5 cm or more within 24 hours.
The snow will continue until the morning of the 29th, with an additional 3 to 8 cm (more than 10 cm in some areas) expected.
As of 6 p.m. that day, the snowfall amounts by region were: Gokseong 1.7 cm, GIST (Gwangju) 1.6 cm, Damyang 1.5 cm, Jangseong 1.3 cm, Hwasun 1.1 cm, Suncheon 0.9 cm, Muan 0.5 cm, Hampyeong 0.4 cm, and Naju 0.2 cm.
A strong wind advisory is currently in effect throughout Gwangju and Jeonnam.
A wind wave warning has been issued for the southern West Sea, and a wind wave warning is expected to be issued for the southern offshore area of the South Sea at 7 p.m. that day.
